  • "This was my first, but not my last time to go to Reverie Chicago. I had their new Butterfish with maple compound butter, farro salad, cranberries, curry dressing, jalapeño sweet potato purée, and purple ninja radishes. It was a party in my mouth, and Executive Chef Brett is amazing!! Fox 32's Lou Canellis, who's a partner in Reverie, was in the house and took time to stop by our table and couldn't have been more welcoming. I'd most definitely recommend this place to anyone."

  • "My absolute favorite menu in Chicago.

I'm not in love with the design of the dining room; I think it had a lot of potential and there simply was not enough thought put into it. The hostesses were polite, welcome and accommodating. Our server was fine; both the manager and one of the partners stopped by our table to chat, which is always appreciated.

The reason is place deserves five stars is because of its immaculate menu. The food and drinks are simply outstanding.

It was a special night at Reverie, so we began with a complimentary plate of appetizers. The chicken wings were scary large, tender and juicy. Although I typically wouldn't order these, if you're craving wings, these will definitely hit the spot. The sushi roll - Brass Monkey - was also very good. It reminded me of a roll at Union down the street, as it was super Americanized and some rolls come with black rice. Like the wings, I probably wouldn't come here for the sushi, but if I was craving it, I'd for sure order it. The two mini, crisp flatbreads (I believe one was the Carrot "Tartare") were certainly unique and fun.

We also ordered the Spinach and Artichoke Trip (delightful, comes prepared in a funny looking cube of bread that falls apart, revealing the dip inside) and harvati crusted mac and cheese (I was't feeling anything heavy like this dish, but my girlfriends raved about it). The Ahi Tuna "Pokstada" was an awesome concept, as its sits on a bed of crispy seaweed "tostada," but the tuna itself didn't taste as fresh as I'd hoped (places like Blackfinn and Gyu Kaku have blown me away). I'm going to give in another try next time. I have faith!

My vegetarian friend ordered the side of vegetables. She couldn't bite through the asparagus (sad), but enjoyed the rest.

The real star of the night was the crispy brussel sprout and kale salad. Oh. My. God. Before Reverie, Sunda's brussel sprout salad was at the top of my list. Reverie's take on it completely blows Sunda away. I can't even put the experience of eating this dish into words, as my foodie vocabulary isn't very developed, but just trust me, you have to order this dish.

"The Flowers" cocktail was also outstanding, and the Derby Dream and Dream of Genie (a new take on a Manhattan) were great. Bravo, Benjamin.

Now all I need is for Chef Aglibot to offer oyster shooters."

  • "Wow this is a fantastic place for food, drinks, sports and watching the pretty people.  The service was fantastic for the 6 of us tonight. We came to celebrate the life and passing of a friend. This was a perfect place. The food was outstanding. Simple and to the point.  The wings were killer.  My lips were slightly on fire, but a nice heat.  Huge flavor and the portion size was worth the price.  My son ordered the burger.  Amazing flavor!  From what I gathered, it's a steak burger they make in house.  I would have had more if my son didn't stop me from stealing his meal!  You gotta try this place."

  • "Jean...Claude...Van Dayyyyyuuuumm this place is good! Wings, Pizza, Nachos, oh my!  The menu is pretty straight forward with everything from apps to entrees.  The cocktail program is creative and they do some things that are kind of out of the box, especially for this neighborhood. We had a server named Sonya who was very efficient and awesome besides the fact that she said she hated the Beastie Boys which I almost took offense to!  I guess everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but seriously...who hates the Beastie Boys?  Overall it's a pretty spot on experience and I hope the guys behind this place can break the trend of kind of a cursed location. Stop in and I'm sure you see why as well."

  • "After searching for a Happy Hour spot on Friday we ended up at Reverie.  When we got there they were filming a commercial but they let us chill at the bar.  Our bartender was great, and recommended one of his own drink concoctions to us which I wish I would have went with (banana hammock...delicious). I ended up going with something basic, but after trying my friends, I quickly switched it up next round.  After seeing our bartender had excellent taste we trusted him with our food selections. We started off with the smoked wings.  Love the presentation of this dish and tasty too.  Only con was it's messy, but what do you expect when you're eating with your hands.  The flavor was lights out.  Next we tried the cheese pizza.  Talk about flavor...  This pizza reminded me of New York pizza but better!  Great service, great food, and a good time. I plan on going back again soon."
